Week of May 26



Any work posted after May 15th is optional. Nothing will be turned in or graded.  If students would like to continue working on educational activities, I have provided some resources and options.
Students will continue to have access to IStation and I Ready for the remainder of the school year.  I Station access will continue through the summer.

Please take time to read some books and take a test. Our school is getting closer to reaching our goal.  Remember there are many books on EPIC!

Summer Reading
Reading is something that is so important over the summer.  I have compiled some ideas to help your child have fun reading this summer!
  • Sign up for the summer reading program at our public library.  They offer great incentives for readers. 
  • Use EPIC! The library through EPIC is really fabulous. Your child can even build their fluency by reading along to the “Read-to-Me” books
  • Sign up for Scholastic Home Base Summer Read-A-Palooza (https://www.scholastic.com/site/summer/home.html)
  • Students should now be able to access their IStation accounts all summer long.  
  • Complete the summer Reading Challenge pages attached.  
  • Read a book the do a fun STEM activity that goes along with it.  You can find lots of ideas on Pinterest. 
  • Youtube has lots of read aloud videos.  Check out the ones I have posted on the blog.  Many of the ones I have posted have a channel and will have other read aloud stories

Cotton Candy Mystery Science

Parents,
I know we have been doing this learing for a while now and it is exhausting. Please let me know how I can help. I have new packets ready for the students. You can pick those up today or Monday. I have made a few adjustments to the packets to hopefully help. We have a shorter writing assignment and different reading comprehension pages that I think the students will be more successful independently on. These will alternate every other day.  Please turn in all of your work that you have completed. Please let me know how I can help.

Cooking with kids provides some great hands on learning about measuring and fractions.  It also created great opportunities to build relationships in your home.  I plan to make these with my kids this weekend!
